History of Saia-Burgess Controls


1920

Foundation of Saia AG – switching device engineering company.

1975

Development of the first electronic controllers.
These were used for production machines designed and built in-house.

1980

With the launch of the Saia® PCA programmable logic controller on the market, the component manufacturer Saia® becomes a PLC system supplier.

2000

Innovation into web technology/communication: development of all new control devices with web server and upgradability of all device lines with Ethernet TCP/IP.

2001

Foundation of Saia-Burgess Controls Ltd. An independent company and division is created from the control technology division/business area.

2003

Saia-Burgess Group buys Cetronic; a company specializing in customized electronic development.

2005

Saia-Burgess Controls Division takes over entire electronics production of Saia-Burgess Group. The Counters/Timers business areas and the Cetronic company are integrated into Saia-Burgess Controls Ltd.

2006

Series production of a wide range of innovative, own-manufacture WebPanels 3.5“ -10.4“.

2007

First Energy Meters with MID approval.

2009

New controllers for Wide Area Control (WAC).

2010

Energy Meter with serial interface (Modbus / S-Bus).
