Small 10.4” Web-Panel: bright display, brilliant function

Saia-Burgess Controls has added a Web-Panel with crystal-clear 10.4” TFT VGA display to its range of high functioning micro-browsers. A special feature of this new Web-Panel is its small mounting size. The frame around the display is much smaller than usual for control devices in this class. As a result, it has 10.4” of useful area for the mounting dimensions of an 8.4” device. The aluminium front of this new micro-browser Web-Panel is protected with a continuous membrane to prevent soiling.
Alongside USB, Ethernet and PS2 interfaces, an RS232 and RS485 interface are also provided as standard. Two optional slots allow further expansion, for example to a data concentrator with 1 GByte of industrial memory.
Equipped with web server, FTP server, file system, e-mail function and programmable logic controller, the Web-Panel can also take over higher level computing and communications tasks. Via MPI/RS485 or Ethernet, existing SIMATIC-S7-CPUs from Siemens or Modbus devices can be integrated next to SaiaPCD controllers as part of a heterogeneous Web HMI system.

Unlike conventional control concepts, web visualization systems are not limited to the local control panel. Once created, web interfaces can be called up from any PC, through intranet or internet. This does not even require the installation of chargeable runtime licences – a standard browser is sufficient.

All electronics and the whole operating system have been developed by the Saia-Burgess company itself. The availability and life cycle of these micro-browser Web-Panels are therefore excellent. Saia micro-browser panels are free from the uncertainties and forced innovation cycles of Windows technology.
