SaiaPG5 ControlsSuite – 2nd generation 




The first generation of SaiaPG5 software has been established on the market since 2002, combining a classical PLC software tool with a graphical engineering tool. User satisfaction is high and the ability to implement even complex applications without any programming know-how has brought Saia-Burgess continued growth, even in the crunch year of 2009.
Even so, with Version 2.0 a new software generation is being launched now deliberately. This second generation provides a stable foundation for the continued, sustainable success of user and producer.
With the second generation SaiaPG5, the specific characteristics (PLC + Web + IT) of the new SaiaPCD automation devices are put to better effect. Users who come more from the IT or PC world will find themselves comfortable in the software environment more quickly.
The main components of the new software have been fully implemented for the new Microsoft.NET platform, making SaiaPG5 2.0 future-proof with regard to the latest and upcoming Windows versions. This means that advanced, convenient functions from the Windows environment can now also be provided for SaiaPG5 users.
Another important improvement in the new generation is the quicker, easier standardization of repeating functions and applications in the form of templates and graphical automation objects. This allows for even more efficiency and reliability in project engineering. As a result, project-specific programming can be reduced even further. A process engineer can create projects without software development.
With the SaiaPG5, Saia-Burgess not only provides a good software development and engineering tool: SaiaPG5 ControlsSuite already includes within its scope a powerful library of ready-made system and automation objects. These can be used directly when creating the project, or freely modified as required right down to the code line.
In 90% of all projects, SaiaPG5 is already used today as a purely graphical engineering tool. This percentage will probably rise even further over the life cycle of the second generation.
Incidentally, when SaiaPCD automation systems are in phases of operation and use, SaiaPG5 Controls Suite is not utilized. Thanks to the integral AutomationServer in all SaiaPCD devices, standard tools like Excel and Webbrowser are enough for end customers and users.
