BACnet-Plus for Peace of Mind in automation

SaiaPCD automation stations with BACnet offer a broad spectrum of BACnet objects and services. To compare performance better, the BACnet standard defines so-called profiles in which the minimum requirements are specified for a certain device class. SaiaPCD systems use the highest controller class as a basis: the BACnet Building Controller (B-BC), and even go far beyond it. For example, proprietary objects and proprietary properties have been consistently shunned in favour of interoperability. This guarantees for Saia-Burgess a permanently open automation system and interoperability across manufacturers.
With its SaiaPCDs, Saia-Burgess has deliberately created a diverse BACnet Controller that is open on all sides. Saia PCDs have been designed to ensure maximum peace of mind for operators and investors when using BACnet.
BACnet-Plus with SaiaPCD means:
- SaiaPCD automation stations have been designed for practical, heterogeneous BACnet environments. They have all the usual web + IT functions on board as standard and support, in parallel with BACnet, other fieldbus protocols like KNX/EIB; LonWorks, Profibus, and M-Bus to name just a few. They can therefore be easily and reliably integrated into any conceivable setting.
- SaiaPCD automation stations have been designed for BACnet progress. Over the past 10 years, the BACnet standard has undergone non-compatible changes in a few important areas. The newly released 2008 standard shows this again. Change will continue to happen in future, because it is a living standard. For this reason, the latest BACnet version can simply be downloaded onto any SaiaPCD device via a small flash memory stick. The ICA application program will remain unaffected by this.
- SaiaPCD automation stations are more than just good instrumentation, control and automation devices. They are also tools for monitoring, managing and visualizing the entire installed multivendor BACnet network at the same time.
By applying these three advantages (Plus), BACnet brings its full potential into play – to the delight of those operators and investors who use it. They will also greatly appreciate the fact that every SaiaPCD automation station is fully reprogrammable and expandable over a guaranteed life cycle of at least 15 years. SaiaPCD has been designed for the continued development of any building automation system and is therefore a good investment for the future.
